Mattarella announced Italy’s ratification of the Investment Protection Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (Evipa), noting that the South-East Asian country “is considered the linchpin of the Indo-Pacific and this opens up a growing collaboration between Europe and Vietnam”.
“This visit of yours allows us to reaffirm the great friendship that exists between Vietnam and Italy, our collaboration in every respect”, said Mattarella, also underlining the “mutual sympathy that binds our peoples” and the “great mutual solidarity”.
